Charge says man freed in Anderson County killed WYCO cop
Without moves by judge
and prosecutor, Harris
would have been in jail
BY MICHAEL RYAN
THE HEARTLANDER
GARNETT Shawn Harris would
have been in prison Saturday,
July 26; unable to shoot and kill
a Wyandotte County deputy as
hes charged, if a prosecutor elsewhere in Kansas had followed
through on a case last year, The
Heartlander has learned.
The former county attorney in
Anderson County southwest of
Kansas City had charged Harris,
38, in two separate cases last year:
one involving physical abuse of
a child, and
another alleging he failed
to report a
change in his
status under
the

Act, which covers repeat violent offenders.
He was allowed to plead no
contest Dec. 17 to two misdemeanor battery counts in the child
abuse case and was put on probation when he could have been
put in prison for over 11 years
for the original
charges.
He pled in
that case a case
that he was facing 136 months
of prison time
over, says puzzled longtime
Harris
KC-area bondsman
Brian
Underwood.
He was allowed to plead to a misdemeanor, was granted probation
and then released from custody in
Anderson County that same day.
Moreover, while it sounds
mundane, the charge involving a Kansas

Harris for a
long period:
he

as well.
But for some reason perhaps as part of a plea deal in the
child abuse case court records
indicate then-County Attorney
Elizabeth Oliver simply dismissed the registration act case
Dec. 17, the same day Harris pled
to lesser charges in the abuse case
and was granted probation.
Harris was thus released
in both cases ultimately free
to allegedly shoot the deputy
on Saturday even though he
already had a Category A criminal history, the worst possible
under Kansas law.
In fact, Harris had long ago

Jump in delinquent taxes may
show impact of property market
GARNETT The impact of
recent years higher property values and climbing tax
bills associated with them
may be showing up in the
countys delinquent tax
rolls, with a 20% increase in
delinquent taxes owed this
year compared to last year.
An annual publication of
delinquent property tax payers and the amounts they
owe is published in todays
newspaper in keeping with
state law, showing a significant increase in both the
amount owed and the number of property owners who
havent yet paid their taxes
this year.
For 2025, 501 properties
owe $510,028, compared to
$423,973 owed last year on
470 separate parcels. A portion of that amount owed,
more so on properties that
have been delinquent the
longest, is interest and fees.
Property taxes are based
on the estimated value of a
home, business, or agricultural land according to actual sale prices of comparable
properties. A hot market for
land and homes in recent
years spurred those values,
resulting in higher tax payments when cities, counties
and school districts failed
to adjust their mill levies
applied to those new higher
values in order to keep property taxes minimal. Low
interest rates nationwide
spurred that demand for
existing property. Interest
rate increases intended to
tamp down post-Covid inflation started in March 2022
and ceased last year, bringing about a leveling of home
and property demand and
prices. Between 2022 and
2023, Kansas Department
of Revenue data shows
Anderson County saw a
significant increase in total
property taxes levied

THE ANDERSON COUNTY REVIEW
GARNETT Garnett police officers
are receiving training on the fringe
Sovereign Citizen movement as the
anti-government extremist cause gains
more attention for its run-ins with law
enforcement.
Garnett Police Chief Kurt King told
city commissioners in a weekly activities
report that one of the department officers
had recently attended
the Small and Rural
Law
Enforcement
Executive Association
National Conference in
Lawrence and received
specific instruction on
recognizing symbols of
the Sovereign Citizen
movement as well as
King
instruction regarding
encounters with the
group, some members of which dont recognize government or police authority.
Rooted in anti-government ideologies
dating back to the 1970s and 80s, sovereign citizens claim they are exempt from
taxes, drivers licenses, vehicle registration, and even the authority of the courts.
The movement is not a centralized organization, but rather a collection of individuals who share the belief that the
U.S. government is illegitimate. Their
rationale varies, but typically involves
pseudo-legal interpretations of the
Constitution, the Uniform Commercial
Code, or outdated interpretations of maritime law.
Some followers argue that by declaring
themselves sovereign, they can opt out
of citizenship responsibilities while still
living within U.S. borders. They often
file fraudulent documents, such as bogus
liens or fake legal notices, to intimidate
or retaliate against public officialsa
tactic known as paper terrorism.
Though many sovereign citizens
are nonviolent, law enforcement officials have identified the movement as
a domestic terrorism concern due to its
unpredictable and occasionally deadly
confrontations. One of the most tragic
examples occurred in 2010, when two
West Memphis, Arkansas, police officers
were killed during a traffic stop by a
father-son sovereign citizen duo armed
with assault rifles.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation
(FBI) has labeled sovereign citizens as
part of the anti-government extremist
threat spectrum. Their actions have
ranged from courtroom disruptions
and identity fraud to armed standoffs.
Even mundane interactionslike traffic stopscan escalate quickly when
an individual refuses to comply, citing
non-recognition of authority.
King said his officer was trained in

OPINION
Dont send our kids to Mamdani
If Kansas taxpayers werent already
outraged that the taxes they pay to fund
their school districts goes in part to sending high school student trips to the cesspool of New York City, the prospect of the
city electing a bona fide communist as its
mayor should be a final wake up call.
New York City has been a hellhole,
self-described by many of its own residents, for more than a decade, but more so
since the COVID pandemic. Crime in New
York City is up, sanitation and services
are down, criminals walk free with no bail
hours after committing violent crimes
and thefts. Decent cops who used to keep
a reign on the streets of Gotham are now
gelded by politicians and theyre leaving
the New York police force in droves not
just in disgust for whats happened to the
city but in many cases out of concern for
their own safety. Its an environment in
which neither they nor the public are protected.
Of course it didnt used to be this way.
In the early 1990s when Rudy Giuliani
used an iron hand to whip the city back
in line from three decades of social decay,
New York became a hot spot destination
with surging tourism in all classes and
with massive business and commercial
development. New York was proud, and
we were all proud of New York.
But those days are gone. NYC is doubling down on its systematic decade of
decay by poising the plurality of its vote in
the upcoming mayoral election for Zohran
Mamdani, a new-age communist raised on
his parents silver spoon with a well-documented history of anti-Jewish, anti-police
babbling and no executive administrative
experience whatsoever. Barack Obama
famously had been a community organizer before his limited political experience and his skin color vaulted him into
the presidency. Mamdani makes the 2006
Obama look like Douglas MacArthur.
No doubt its a great kick for former
members of the U.S. military now living
in Kansas, who stood against communism
post-World War II and during the Cold
War, to know that their tax money being
spent by public schools in the state will be
going to help fund Zohran The Commies
circus. Zo wants to replace cops with
unarmed Mental Health Crisis Response
Teams; he wants the city (which is doing
such a fine job in so many other areas) to
own grocery stores to lower food prices.
He wants child welfare workers in the
city to be required to tell guardians of the
various ways they can refuse to cooperate
with enforcement actions.
Simply put, Mamdanis an idiot; a
waterspout among this modern surge of
socialism that hates our country and western civiliation.
If Mamdanis elected, people are going
to die. Wealthy New Yorkers are going to
pole vault out of the city at lightspeed to
avoid his massive taxes, and New York
will collapse on itself and eventually
demand a federal bailout.
It will be even more unsafe for Kansas
high school drama clubs who want to
attend a Broadway play for kicks, and our
funds shouldnt be used to support what is
nothing short of an anti-America, criminal endeavor.
Kansas school board members: Deny
those student trips to New York and send
our kids somewhere American. ###

Can someone explained to me why we
learned more about the New York City
shooter in four hours than weve learned
about the Trump shooter in the entire
year? Thank you.
Well, I see Anderson County made the
Kansas City news. The man who killed
the policeman last weekend was actually up on charges in Anderson County.
But through plea bargains was allowed to
plead his way out of jail. Mr. Hicks, perhaps you can investigate that.
Russiagate: Dems lied, and half the country believed them
The United States of America has
now spent almost a decade embroiled in
Russiagate, and its citizens have been
bombarded from both sides with theories,
names, and anonymous quotes. But it all
really comes down to one thing: Democrats
lied, and half the country believed them.
In the 24 pages of never-before-seen
declassified files released Thursday, we
saw in cold, calculated black and white
exactly how the Clinton campaign crafted
the lie that Donald Trump was colluding
with Russia to influence the 2016 election.
One email allegedly shows Leonard
Benardo, vice president of the George
Soros backed Open Society Foundation,
writing in July 2016 that, Julie [sic] says it
will be a long-term affair to demonize Putin
and Trump, adding Now it is good for a
post-convention bounce. Later the FBI will
put more oil into the fire.
Julie is Julianne Smith, then a foreign
policy adviser to the Hillary Clinton campaign. You know who the FBI is.
Just two days later, Bernado would
allegedly send another email. HRC
approved Julias idea about Trump and
Russian hackers hampering U.S. elections, it read. That should distract people
from her own missing email, especially if
the affair goes to the Olympic level.
Benardo would also allegedly write,
and this is key, The point is making

the Russian play a U.S. domestic issue,
adding, In absence of direct evidence,
Crowdstrike and ThreatConnect will supply the media
This all leads to a gem in the annex
to John Durhams Russia hoax probe,
released Thursday, which concluded,
During the first stage of the campaign,
due to lack of direct evidence, it was decided to disseminate the necessary information through the FBI-affiliated attic-based
technical structures that are involved in
cybersecurityfrom where the information would then be disseminated through
leading US publications.
The Clinton campaign knew all too well
that their lackeys in the media would eat
up this half-baked nonsense with a spoon,
and probably win awards for it, which is
exactly what happened.
What the media wasnt told at the time
was that field officers in the CIA objected to
the lies and were run over because, according to their then-Director John Brennan it
rings true.
This ludicrous legal standard of rings
true, was used to convince the FISA court
to renew warrants on Trump officials,
which was not only a free federal law
enforcement fishing expedition, but created smoke and the appearance of fire.
In December of 2016,in the dying days of
the Barack Obama administration, intel
reports were massaged to once again create the illusion that Trump was a traitor who became president only through
Russian assistance.
Thus was launched Robert Muellers
investigation, which would last for years
at a cost of more than $30 million, but ultimately exonerate Trump.
Perhaps worst of all, in the midst of
this Kafkaesque trial by media and secret
courts, peoples lives were destroyed,
crushed by false allegations, legal bills and
a process that was the punishment.
One of them is Michael Caputo, a long-time
member of Trumps orbit who I talked to
on Friday.
It is precious little comfort knowing

No one but Hamas is to blame for Gazas woes
Hamas started a war, rejected a ceasefire and stole and profited from humanitarian aid, and we are supposed to believe
that its all Israels fault.
International attention is focused on
food shortages in Gaza, with the blame
and the pressure — as always — on Israel
to do something about it.
It is always difficult to get to the
ground truth in Gaza, which is shrouded
in the fog of war, of Hamas propaganda
and of slanted media coverage, but there
appears indeed to be a brewing humanitarian crisis.
Israel stopped shipments of aid into
Gaza in March after a temporary ceasefire expired, and then started them up
again in May, using the so-called Israeland U.S.-backed Gaza Humanitarian
Foundation (GHF) as the conduit. The
stoppage in aid, coupled with inadequate
GHF operations, has led to the current
situation.
Its necessary to understand the larger
context, though. Israel halted food shipments as a means to deny Hamas revenue, not to target the general population.
The terror group had perfected the
art of exploiting humanitarian aid (and
commercial transactions) for its own
purposes via theft and taxes, plowing the
proceeds into its military operations.
Although there is now an effort by
Israels critics to portray the concern
over Hamas profiteering as fabricated or
exaggerated, there is no doubt that this
business model was crucial to the terror
group. Both The Wall Street Journal
(A Depleted Hamas Is So Low on Cash
That It Cant Pay Its Fighters) and
The Washington Post (Hamas Facing
NATIONAL COMMENTARY
RICH LOWRY, King Features Syndicate
Financial and Administrative Crisis as
Revenue Dries Up) have run reports on
the squeeze felt by Hamas.
The Journal article back in April
noted that the cash crunch with the
cut off in aid was making it harder
for Hamas to bring in new recruits and
maintain cohesion. The Washington
Post reported about a week ago: With
its coffers depleted, Hamass military
wing can no longer adequately pay the
salaries of its fighters, though it is still
able to recruit teenage boys for missions
like keeping lookout or placing explosives along Israeli military routes.
Making it harder for your enemy to
pay its fighters and secure new ones is
an important and legitimate military
goal. The problem is the potential cost to
people in Gaza who arent combatants.
The shortages are just another consequence of how deeply embedded Hamas
is in Gaza society. This isnt a group of
terrorists who moved into territory adjacent to Israel to launch the Oct. 7 attacks
and could be quickly extricated by an
I just got the Review and I seen the front

years old, retired, I have no children, and

intense military operation. Hamas has
been the government of Gaza for a couple
of decades, and has used every instrument of political and social influence at
its disposal — including the distribution
of food — to build its military capacity.
Its important to remember that Israel
didnt start this war, that itd much rather be fighting a conventional military
force that abided by the rules of war, and
that Hamas still holds Israeli hostages
and has taken a rejectionist attitude to
ceasefire talks.
Even Emperor Hirohito thought his
people had suffered enough at the conclusion of World War II, but Hamas
considers the agony of Gazans a useful
weapon in the narrative war. From this
perverted point of view, a famine would
be welcome news, perhaps forcing Israel
to stay its hand and leave Hamas to fight
another day.
Clearly, Israel needs to find better
ways to get aid into Gaza. The GHF
hasnt gotten the support that it needed
from the U.N. and other agencies (they
are too invested in the corrupt status
quo), while the distribution points for aid
are chaotic and dangerous.
The best thing that could happen
would be an end to the war with a decent
political authority — more invested in
the general welfare than in tunnels and
rockets– finally in charge of Gaza. But
Hamas would rather see the population
starve than give up on the war, or its grip
on power.

I really have to wonder how Anderson
County could let a man go free after facing
such horrible charges just weeks away
from the changeover to the new attorney. You have to wonder if maybe its
because they just gave up and didnt care
about fighting for Anderson County, and
now were paying the price by watching a Wyandotte County Sheriff family
grieve. Should someone be facing disbarment?

Firefighters initially controlled the fire, but it rekindled overnight and eventually destroyed the structure.
Kansas Statute 38-23-47
outlines when and how
a juvenile may be transferred from juvenile court
to district (adult) court.
According to the law the
juvenile has to be at least
14 years old and alleged to
have committed an offense
that would be considered a
felony if committed by an
adult. Allegations of serious crimes like first and
second degree murder,
aggravated kidnapping or
rape carry statutory exclusion and mandatory adult
prosecution. The hearing
process for juvenile to be
tried as an adult, even if not
required, is also outlined in
tional attitude, and mental
capacity of the juvenile any
prior juvenile crime record
and or failed attempts at
previous rehabilitation and
the likelihood of successful
rehabilitation before the
age of 21. While suitability
for adult court is presumed
by the law in mandatory
waiver cases, the prosecution has to make the burden
of proof to show that adult
charges serve the interest
of justice in discretionary
cases.
Kansas law also allows
a reverse waiver in some
caseswhere a juvenile
initially charged as an
adult can request to return
to juvenile court. The district court must conduct a
hearing and apply similar
factors to those above.
A follow up hearing
in the case had not been
scheduled as of this week
on the court docket through
early September.
and all those defendants who have not
otherwise been served are required
to plead to the Petition on or before
September 17, 2025 in the District Court
of Anderson County, Kansas. If you fail
to plead, judgment and decree will be
entered in due course upon the request
of plaintiff.

recognizing some of the
symbolism of those followers, such as the Title 4
Flag or the upside down
American Flag a universal signal of distress, often
used by protestors of U.S.
government core policy, as
well as verbiage used on
fake license plates and drivers licenses.
It also discussed the
language and terminology they use from selected
sentences out of various
laws, Uniform Commercial
Codes, Marine Law, and
Diplomatic Treaties with
other nations, King told
commissioners in the
report. The class offered
responses to those assertions made by the Sovereign
Citizens when contacted by
law enforcement.
Agencies have adopted
a multifaceted approach
to deal with sovereign citizens, focused on safety,
education, and legal preparedness. Many departments now include sovereign citizen awareness in
their academy and in-service training. Officers
learn to recognize common
phrases (I do not consent
to this stop, I am a free
inhabitant, etc.), indicators (homemade license
plates, anti-government
literature), and behavioral
red flags. Given the movements ideological rigidity,
officers are trained to avoid
argumentative exchanges
and instead proceed with
calm, firm communication.
The goal is to minimize
confrontation while main-
taining lawful authority
and safety.
Sovereign citizens rely
on distorted readings of the
law to justify their actions,
analysts of the movement
say. They often cite obscure
language from old court
cases, claim that the U.S.
government became illegitimate after the Civil War
or creation of the Federal
Reserve, or argue that gold
fringe on courtroom flags
invalidates proceedings.
These arguments have
been repeatedly dismissed
by courts as legally baseless, yet the ideology persists through social media,
YouTube videos, and online
message boards.
Their core belief that
individual
sovereignty
supersedes public law
conflicts directly with the
foundational principles of
civil society, say constitutional academics. While
they often see themselves
as patriots or freedom fighters, their refusal to accept
the rule of law has consequences for public order
and officer safety.
Fusion centers collaborative efforts involving
multiple agencies like law
enforcement, public safety
and private sector partners
that share information
and intelligence to combat
crime and terrorism as
well as federal task forces
help track known sovereign
citizens, especially those
with a history of violence
or paper terrorism. Crossjurisdictional cooperation
ensures local agencies are
not caught off guard by frequent filers or known agitators.

COURT…
FROM PAGE 1
history even before his
2013 sentence of nearly 11
years in a 2012 armed robbery. He was released from
state prison sometime before
February 2024.
The Heartlander reached
out to Oliver to ask why the
two cases she filed turned
out the way they did. She
replied via email that she is
working on memory alone,
now that shes out of office
and no longer has access to
Harris files.
On the abuse case, Oliver
writes that a judge threw
out the abuse charge after
a Sept. 17 preliminary hearing, leaving only two counts
of battery.
Despite the minor child
reenacting how Mr.
Harris hit her, and identifying Mr. Harris, Judge Kara
Reynolds did not bind Mr.
Harris over on the felony
count of child abuse, Oliver
writes, adding that Harris
was sentenced to 208 days
time served.
It is highly unusual to
put minor children that
are under 12 on the stand
at a preliminary hearing,
she writes. In this case, I
put the two minor children
on and [one] testified and
reenacted the event out, and
Judge Reynolds found the
state had not met the burden
of probable cause for the felony count of child abuse.
I simply cannot [comment] on Judge Reynolds
ruling.
On the registration act
case, Oliver writes that a
deal on it was actually
reached before the abuse
case.
Mr. Harris was to get
compliant on his registration offense and the case
would be dismissed, but the
state reserved the right to
refile the case, she writes.
My recollection in this case
is that Mr. Harris made a
good impression on the officer and the officer approved
of the offer. It would have
been unusual for me to dismiss this type of case without an officers approval.
Judge Kara Reynolds
had not bound over a previous case with the exact
same charge at a preliminary hearing and that ruling
dismissed that case at that
stage.
Her ruling in the other
case was a significant consideration for me in making
the decision in this case. It
is difficult to say what would
have happened had this case
progressed. Sentencing is
ultimately the Judges decision, and defense may make
arguments for a departure to
probation. I cannot commit
to what could have been.
Dont give him the plea deal!
With that criminal history, its likely Harris would
have been sentenced in the
case to 46 months in prison making it impossible
for him to kill Wyandotte
County Sheriffs Deputy
Elijah Ming, for which hes
been charged with capital
murder.
He faced up to 46 months
in prison on the registration act violation alone,
notes James Spies, a defense
attorney and former prosecutor in Kansas City. He
would have been whats
called presumptive imprisonment on that, meaning
the law says hes supposed
to go to prison.
Spies is baffled as to why
a prosecutor would let a
Category-A criminal skate
on a registration act violation.
After Harris pled to two
misdemeanor batteries in
the child abuse case, he says,
why do you then also dismiss the offender registration? Generally, those are
slam dunk cases. So, if you
were so inclined to give a
misdemeanor on the child
abuse case, why not also
hammer him for the offender registration?
What if not dismissing
the registration act charge
wouldve blown up the plea
deal in the child abuse case?
Well, then dont give him
the plea deal! says Spies.
Not a case of herding
cats
Its not as if Harris deserved
a break.
Ive done the math,
Underwood says, and it
looks to me like this guy has
spent just over two-thirds of
his adult life incarcerated.
Nonetheless, Harris is
now accused of shooting at
Ming and a Kansas City,
Kansas, police officer from
inside a house Saturday,
killing Ming, who leaves a
wife and son. News reports
say a woman there had
requested police protection
after she said a man had
threatened her with a gun
while friends were helping
her move out.
Both Underwood and
Spies fault former prosecutor Oliver more for the failure to prosecute Harris on
the registration act charge,
owing to how difficult it is
to win convictions in abuse
cases particularly if a victim or witness is uncooperative, frightened or recants.
This case of violation of
the Offender Registration
Act is a drastically different case, Underwood says.
Your witnesses are law
enforcement officers that
you can get into court with
nothing more than a text
message, telephone call or
an e-mail.
Its not a case of herding
cats to successfully prosecute a case like the violation
of the Offender Registration
Act.
Why walk away from
a monster?
Even if there was a prior
agreement to dismiss
the registration case,
Underwood says, The minute the file crossed her desk
alleging child abuse, all bets
were off, and there should
have been no deal.
Underwood also argues
that Olivers attitude on
the registration act charge
that this particular judge
doesnt tend to convict in
such cases, so why pursue
it is a strikingly defeatist
attitude for a prosecutor.
Your job as a prosecutor
is to vigorously prosecute
the cases that you have, he
argues. Vigorous prosecution [was] Ms. Olivers J-OB. And she did not vigorously prosecute someone who
is obviously a monster. She
had him. She knew he was
a monster, and she did not
vigorously prosecute him.
That prosecution in the
pre-existing offender registration case should have
been all the more vigorous,
Underwood says, after the
child abuse case popped
up. And the case certainly
shouldnt have been dismissed for someone she
believed was guilty of physically abusing a child, he
says.
The fact that she put
11
LOCAL
kids on the stand at a preliminary hearing speaks to the
degree to which she did, in
fact, believe that child abuse
had occurred.
Criminal history A is currently the worst category in
Kansas. But what if there
was an even higher category
of criminal?
If only there was like
an A+ or AA or AAA, then
this guy Shawn Harris he
would have been at least an
AA, or an A+, whatever you
call it, Spies says.
If the Legislature were
to create something higher
than criminal history A,
Underwood says, Shawn
Harris at the time that he
was being prosecuted for
this child abuse case would
have fit into that next higher
category.
Prosecutor courted
controversy
Oliver writes on her
LinkedIn page, I am an
experienced trial lawyer.
But she was a controversial
figure during her time as
Anderson County attorney
from January 2021 to this
past January.
KOFO radio reported in
April 2024 that the county
denied her a cost of living
increase because county
commissioners take issue
with how she runs her
office specifically about
it being closed or unattended during normal business
hours.
According to the station,
then-Sheriff Vern Valentine
also complained in an email
about the office being
vacant during regular work
days.
Commissioners told the
Anderson County Review
they did take issue with
Olivers office hours, and
that withholding Olivers
COLA was a move to exert
that pressure.
It amounted to three
days, Oliver writes about
the office being poorly manned. One day was
a part-day holiday and
I allowed my employee to
work remote from home.
One day I was at the office
alone and a sign was up
advising people to knock
on the door. And there was
one day where the office
was closed and no one was
there. My recollection was
the issue arose during the
holidays in November/
December.
Oliver was nonetheless
confident enough in herself
that in 2022 she was one of
four applicants for a judgeship in Lyon County outside of Anderson Countys
judicial district just a year
and a half into her tenure as
county attorney.
One of these applicants
is from out-of-county. Shes
widely traveled, a member
of the judicial nominating
commission was quoted as
saying of Oliver at the time.
I would question whether
shes going to use this as a
steppingstone for something
else, or whether or not she
is a viable candidate for the
judgeship.
Indeed, about a week
later Oliver was the lone
applicant passed over by the
commission.
Oliver left office in
January after she was
defeated for re-election in
the Republican primary last
August by a landslide vote of
783 to 334, KOFO reported.
I filed more cases than
my predecessor during
my time as the Anderson
County Attorney (my predecessor was there for 8 years;
I was there for 4), Oliver
writes in her defense, and
I took more than double the
amount of cases my predecessor did to jury trial. I was
the first female Anderson
County Attorney.
Math says Harris shouldve
been in prison
If Oliver had prosecuted
Harris on the offender registration case rather than
dismissing it last December,
whats the likelihood that
he wouldve been in a state
prison last Saturday and
unable to shoot deputy Ming
as charged?
Its not a theoretical
debate, says Underwood.

about 7.2%, from approximately
$17.86 M
to
$19.14 M. A market level
analysis for appraisal
year 2025 (as of January
1) suggests real estate values rose rapidly in prior
years, then began moderating more recently.
Public policy analysts say
when valuations increase
sharply, tax bills can out-
pace household budgets,
especially if wages or
incomes dont keep up
resulting in more unpaid
taxes.
In 2023 (tax year 2022),
Anderson County had 461
parcels with delinquent
taxes totaling $388,095.
That figure increased 9%
between 2023 and 2024.

were right, we need accountability, but even accountability doesnt feed the bulldog, he told me, which was
to say the damage to him and
his family cannot be undone.
Accountability comes in
many forms. Caputo may
never get the perp walks by
former Democrat officials
that he understandably
desires, but this dastardly
lie concocted by Democrats
to smear Trump and maintain power has at least been
exposed.
According to a Suffolk
poll in December of 2018,
Forty-six percent are convinced that there was collusion between the Trump
campaign and the Russians,
while 29 percent said there
was no such coordination,
and 19 percent werent sure.
Every
serious
person, whether Democrat or
Republican, now admits
that this simply was not
true. What they must also
then admit is that half of
Americans believed the lie
only because Democrats told
it so deceitfully.
It was Walter Scott who
wrote in his 1808 poem
Marmion, What a tangled
web we weave, when first
we practice to deceive.
But in this case, Democrats
wanted the web, a web so
dense with so many loose
ends and round corners that
the truth would be forever
hidden.
It was Shakespeare who
wrote the truth will out,
and so it has come out, albeit
not before shaking a country to its core and crushing
innocent lives.
Whatever else comes
from the current investigationof Russiagate, one thing
is now clear, ready to be
etched in the stone of history: The Democrats invented
the Russian collusion lie,
they did it intentionally, and
they suckered their voters
into buying it.
To everyone involved in
this hoax, the message must
be clear: This is your legacy, your attempt to deceive
the American people and
destroy the man they elected
to lead them. That is who
you are.
